Arrangements are being made in both private and public sector for Covid-19 management: Health Min

Raipur: Health minister TS Singh Deo on Friday said that arrangements are being made in both private and public sector for Covid-19 management in the state.

“We have kept a target of 13,000 oxygen beds, for which efforts are being made. Besides, efforts are also being made to increase ICU beds. In addition arrangements are being made for oxygen jumbo cylinders, directions given to made industrial grade oxygen to medical grade and transportation of oxygen cylinders”, he said.


Currently 170 private institutions are providing services under Dr Khubchand Baghel scheme for Covid-19 management. Beds count has also been increased under the scheme and 510 ventilators have been arranged in private institutions for Covid-19 treatment. “We will make all possible efforts in both government and private sector to ensure better medical facilities for citizens”, said the minister.

Speaking about information being spread regarding shortage and black-marketing of Remdesivir injection in the market, the minister said that this situation is not acceptable in any case and people should not indulge in such practices in this difficult situation. He said that directions have been given to the health department to take strict action against on such complaints after investigation. He said that the vendors who have received tender for supply of Remdesivir injection is not supplying the stock properly even after multiple requests. Action will be taken against them for not fulfilling the terms and conditions of tender. We have planned to procure 1.35 lakh Remdesivir injections following the completion of tender process.
