Chhattisgarh DGP stresses upon the need for impact policing to improve the image of police

Raipur: Chhattisgarh DGP DM Awasthi has stressed the need for impact policing to improve the image of the police.

Addressing a one-day workshop organized to improve the functioning of police stations in the state, Awasthi said that impact policing will be done only when the complainant coming to the police station is satisfied and is treated sensitively. DGP

“Police station is the basic unit of the police system. All the police station officers should adopt a positive approach towards impact policing. The image of the police can be changed only by improving the conduct of all the staff of the police station and the behavior towards the citizens. If the complainant comes to the police station, his experience should be better. You guys should take feedback from citizens. All police station officers should try that their police station should be recognized as a model police station”, he said.

In the workshop, the police officials concerned were trained in maintaining law and order, discipline, prevention of crimes, prompt action after the occurrence of crime, collection of information, media, dealing with public representatives and amendment of laws. Similar workshops will be organized every month for the police station officers.

IG Sushil Chandra Dwivedi, Deputy Director CG Police Academy Dr Sanjeev Shukla, Commandant Prakhar Pandey, AIG UBS Chauhan were present in the workshop.
