Raipur: As the Kharif season in Chhattisgarh is advancing, the main opposition BJP has launched a movement or sort, to unwrap the sale of non-standard seeds “Bayer-8433”. It may be noted that a number of farmers had become victims of the same non-standard seeds during the last Kharif season also, and many of them committed suicide when they did not get a good harvest.
State BJP Kisan Morcha Vice President Gaurishankar Shrivas, today raided the office of a multi-national company, “Bayer” which was engaged in the illegal trade of non-standard seeds. When Shrivas did the operation, the officials of the company ran away. He alleged that he himself bought the non-standard seeds to vindicate the fact. “In many districts, the administration has banned the sale of this seed. Then how come the same seeds are being sold in the state capital? BJP Kisan Morcha will soon lodge a complaint against Bayer and launch a campaign to make the farmers aware against the non-standard seeds.
Shrivas along with other office-bearers of the Kisan Morcha Vishwajeet Sengupta, Shubham Pandey, Ravikant Tiwari, Uday Kotecha, and others staged a dharna demanding action against the said MNC. He alleged that the state government has failed to monitor the sale of non-standard seeds, even when the ruling party leaders often make claims of being the saviors of the farmers. Shrivas asserted that the state government would have to answer, how this MNC was allowed to run its outlet in the state capital for selling non-standard seeds.
