Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia alleged that Chief Minister Bhupesh was buying his son-in-law's college with government funds. In response, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, said, 'The government is doing this to protect the future of the students.
On Tuesday, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted that Bhupesh Baghel is trying to buy his son-in-law's private college from government funds to save it. Using the state money for his son-in-law, that too a medical college which the Medical Council of India accused of fraud.
Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh wrote, "This matter is serious. Bhupesh Baghel is bringing a bill for the acquisition of Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College to benefit his relatives. The college whose affiliation expired in 2017. Preparations are on to give him 125 crores from the government treasury to the Chief Minister's family.
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra and Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey also made similar posts. For the purchase of this medical college, the government will bring a bill in this session. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced the acquisition of the college in February 2021 at the birth anniversary program of Chandulal Chandrakar.

The recognition of Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College of Bhilai got cancelled in 2018 itself. Due to this, students enrolled in the 2017 batch faced a crisis. There is also a dispute about the liability of Rs 143 crore on the college management. Because of this, the Bank had seized its assets. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced its acquisition in February 2021. The government also made provisions in the budget, but this process is still incomplete. The students here are worried about their future. He met Governor Anusuiya Uikey several times. The Governor has spoken to the Chief Minister many times to solve this problem. On July 13, the Chief Minister and the Governor discussed the same.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey said that the government decided to acquire the medical college for the students. Usually, it takes about Rs 500 crore and a lot of time to prepare the infrastructure of a medical college. With the acquisition of 150-seat Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College, Durg, recognized by the Medical Council of India, only half the cost of one more government medical college will be available immediately.
