Raipur: Kolkata Police arrested a kidnapper whose gang has more than 50 kidnapping cases registered across the country including kidnapping cases of one industrialist and a son of industrialist of Chhattisgarh.

As per police sources, Chandan Sonar also known as the kidnapping king was arrested by the police from Baidhan in Singrauli district. A shocking thing in the case is that the interstate crook was running his network from Singrauli. However, the MP police has not clue of it. He was running the network on a 30-year lease of GP Palace in Baidhan. He was living here as a Chandra Mohan.

Chandan Sonar hails from Senduari village in Hajipur, 25 km from Patna, the capital of Bihar. In 2010, Patna police arrested him in a kidnapping case. He has done the most kidnappings in West Bengal. His name came up in Chhattisgarh on January 8, 2020 in the kidnapping case of famous industrialist Praveen Somani and Aditya, the son of Bhilai industrialist Shailesh Shah.

Chandan Sonar used to take help of girls besides local boys for kidnapping. He used to kidnap the target by paying money to boys and girls. This was revealed in the kidnapping of Chhattisgarh businessman Praveen Somani.
