Raipur: The Chhattisgarh cabinet has given its nod to make Chhattisgarh Film Policy-2021 with main objective to make Chhattisgarh a film friendly state besides developing the state as a central hub for film shooting.
Other objectives include increasing employment opportunities for local talent, encouraging investors in the state in the field of film production and provide national and international recognition to cultural places of the state through films.
This was decided in the cabinet meeting held under chairmanship of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel here on Tuesday. It was decided in the meeting that incentive grant would be given to the National Award winning film made in Chhattisgarh. Under this, the National Award in the Prime Category from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, New Delhi, for the best film of Chhattisgarhi background, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, National Integration or Social Message, a maximum amount of Rs 1 crore (anyone in the category and once in a year) provision of additional grant has been made.
Under the 67th National Film Awards announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in the year 2021, 'Bhulan The Maze' has been given the National Award for Best Film in the category of regional language Chhattisgarhi. This will be eligible for Rs 1 crore incentive grant for the year 2021.
It was decided to produce short films and documentaries of international level focusing on the culture of Chhattisgarh. Under which, in the year 2021-22, short films and documentaries focusing on 5 different dimensions of the state's culture like Sirpur, Bison Madiya, Ghotul, Dhokra Art and Baiga will be made.
