Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday paid floral tributes to the portrait of great social reformer and educationist Swami Atmanand on the occasion of his death anniversary. Agriculture and water resources minister Ravindra Choubey and forest and climate change minister Mohammad Akbar were also present on the occasion.
Acknowledging the contribution of Swami Atmanand to society, chief minister said that his ideals and life values will always inspire us to do public service. Chhattisgarh has been the 'Karmbhoomi' of Swami Atmanand. He made significant contribution to society by serving humanity and by promoting education and moral values.
Swami Atmanand established Narayanpur Ashram for the upliftment of forest dwellers. Following the footsteps of Swami Atmanand, State Government has started Swami Atmanand English Medium School for the education of children from the financially weak backgrounds, he said.
