Raipur. There is good news for fruit and vegetable-producing farmers and traders of the state who import and export green vegetables and fruits through trains. The first Kisaan (Farmer) Special Train from Raipur Rail Division has started running between Chhindwara-Howrah from 28thOctober. With this facility, farmers and traders will get business opportunities in the markets of other states besides their own state, where they will be able to supply their vegetables and fruits at the desired costs. Officials of Raipur division said that this is the first Farmer Rail in the state, which has been started by the Railway Board in the interest of farmers.
This farmer rail will connect six states of the country namely Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. This train will pass through 16 stations including Chhindwara and Howrah. These include Sausar, Savner, Itwari, Gondia, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Champa, Raigarh, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, and Kharagpur. In this way, the farmers and traders of these station areas will get the convenience of loading vegetables and fruits on this special train. In the interest of farmers, 50% concession is being given in the fare for transporting vegetables and fruits. With this facility, farmers will be able to send their produce to the new potential market at a lower cost, which will benefit them financially. Farmers and traders transporting vegetables and fruits through Farmer Rail can seek information related to the parcel, bookings, and delivery from Main Parcel Supervisor Raipur and Chief Parcel Supervisor Durg.
