Ramesh Bais sworn-in as 10th Governor of Jharkhand

Ranchi: Ramesh Bais was administered as the Governor of Jharkhand by Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan at Birsa Mandap on Wednesday. The seven times MP from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, took oath as the tenth Governor of Jharkhand. He was arrived in Ranchi a day before the swearing-in ceremony, on Tuesday.

Ramesh Bai was born on August 2, 1947, in Raipur and became a Member of Parliament for the first time in 1989. He remained the MP of Raipur till 2019. He was also served as Minister of State in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government at the Centre. He also served as chief whip of BJP in Lok Sabha. Bais was made the Governor of Tripura in 2019.

It is to be mentioned, Bais had been sharing a good rapport with three stalwarts of Jharkhand politics – Arjun Munda, Babulal Marandi, and Raghubar Das. Bais and Marandi had worked together as were Ministers of State in the Vajpayee Government. Moreover, Raghubar Das basically belongs to Chhattisgarh and therefore Bais and Das share a good rapport.
