Raipur. BJP State President Vishnu Deo Sai has termed the Congress State government's entire tenure as unfortunate after another died by farmer suicide in Abhanpur assembly constituency. The State President said that farmers are continuously dying by suicide in the state but the state Congress, including the Chief Minister, are still not deterred from using them for political gimmicks.
Vishnu Deo Sai said that a three-member investigation team is going to visit Torla to investigate the matter, express condolences to the relatives of the deceased and submit their report. Former BJP Kisan Morcha Presidents duo Sandeep Sharma and Poonam Chandrakar are in this team as well as BJP farmer leader Gaurishankar Shrivas. "Farmers have died by suicide in the districts of Chief Minister, Home Minister and Agriculture Minister of the state. It is hopeless to expect a sensitive approach or farmer's welfare from such a government." The State President added.
This new case has come from Congress MLA and former minister Dhanendra Sahu's home village, Torla, where a desperate farmer Prakash Tarak died by suicide because of crop failure caused by the use of fake pesticides. Vishnu Deo Sai said that this is destroying the lives of the farmers. However, the State Government is shielding fake pesticide traders by not taking any concrete action in this matter. Vishnu Deo Sai has demanded a high-level probe on this illegal fake-pesticide business, and severe punishment for those involved. He also said that it is regrettable that the Congress party boasts about being farmer-friendly, but the ground reality is much different. He has also asked the state government to provide adequate financial assistance to the families of the deceased farmers in cases of suicide.
