CM Bhupesh Baghel extends support to farmer's protest to be held in Rajim on Sept 23

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has given his nod to support the proposed Kisan Mahapanchayat to be held in Rajim on September 28. He has welcomed the farmer leaders coming here saying that all possible support will be given to them.

Talking to media persons on Tuesday, Baghel said that the movement which was going on in Delhi was first started by our national leader Rahul Gandhi. He traveled by tractor in Punjab and Haryana. Priyanka Gandhi also continuously organized Kisan Mahapanchayat in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Farmers are protesting continuously which has become a nationwide movement now. If farmer leaders are coming to Chhattisgarh, they are welcome.

Chhattisgarh Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh has decided to organize Kisan Mahapanchayat on September 28 on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh and martyrdom day of labor leader Shankar Guha Niyogi. In this, farmers leaders including Rakesh Tikait, Dr. Darshanpal Singh, Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar and Dr. Sunilam have been called from among the leaders leading the farmers' movement on the borders of Delhi.

Farmer leader Jageshwar Jugnu Chandrakar had told that all the affiliated organizations are pushing for the Kisan Mahapanchayat. So far, they have held meetings in more than 100 nearby villages. More than 10,000 farmers are expected in this protest. A meeting for the same was held in Raipur on Monday. During the meeting, strategy related to organizing the Mahapanchayat was discussed.
