Bastar: The untiring efforts of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in the last two and a half years have yielded results in the restive Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Special focus on the development of Bastar and its people has been a priority of the state government. As a result, a remote village Minapa, once a stronghold of Naxals, has received electricity after a prolonged wait. The villagers are delighted to have electricity.
Notably, the 75th Independence Day brought a new dawn for Rengapara residents of Minapa village as they got freedom from the darkness with the supply of electricity, thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma.
The village was deprived of electricity for a long due to its demography and Naxal violence. In the year 2006, Naxals had damaged the developmental infrastructures. They uprooted electric poles also.
Local MLA and Minister Lakhma did not forgive his hope and continued his honest efforts to bring electricity to the village and succeeded in his mission with the support of the Chief Minister. The supply of electricity to the village was done from the Dornapal feeder via Jagargunda, Bukrapal.
As many as 7.8 km long 11 KV Line and 2.3 km LT Line were laid for the supply of electricity. With it, transformers and other equipment were set up. Now 30 families in the far-flung Minapa village are happy to have the power connection. The supply of such remote areas was not an easy task in view of Naxal challenges. After 2020 Naxal violence, a Camp was set up in 2021 near the village and it helped curb Naxal activities paving the way for the development of the village.
