
Raipur: The Chhattisgarh police on Thursday recovered
huge amount of explosives from the house of the BJP leader at Gobra Nawapara in
Abhanpur area of Raipur district.
As per official police sources, acting on a tip-off,
the Gobra Nawapara police conducted raid at the house of BJP leader Shreyansh
Chaudhary. Amidst search in the house, the police also searched Shreyansh's car
garage in Arihant Colony. From here about 17 sacks of explosive powder which
were kept hidden were recovered.
The explosives were seized on the spot as per the
instructions of high level officials. Shreyansh Chaudhary’s son was called at
the police station for further investigations. By 3 pm a special cell and
forensic team from Raipur reached the spot. The forensic team weighed the
powder after it was tested. However, currently the exact amount and type of
explosives recovered is still unknown.
CSP Tripathi informed that further investigations
are underway.
Shreyansh Chaudhary has been a long-time
representative of Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais. As per sources, Shreyash has a
quarry and crusher machine in village Dulna where these explosives are used.
