Bilaspur district court rejects bail plea of a doctor and ward boy indulged in black marketing of Remdesivir injection

Raipur: Bilaspur district court has rejected a bail plea of accused caught in black marketing of Remdesivir injection.

Besides, the doctor of Children’s Hospital appeared in police station in person and asked for time to present documents. Torwa police station in-charge Parivesh Tiwari said that Dr Dilip Kumar Sannat (34) and Ward Boy Dwarka Singh (24) were caught black marketing Remdesivir injection at a private hospital in Agrasen Chowk on Sunday evening.

As per police sources, during the investigation, the accused ward boy told that he had previously worked in the Care and Cure Hospital. After this, he started working in a private hospital in Agrasen Chowk. While working at Care and Cure Hospital, he stole 5 ampules of Remdesivir injection. Out of these, 4 ampules had sold at the rate of Rs 18,000. He was caught red handed while selling an ampule.

Care and Cure and a private hospital at Agrasen Chowk were issued notices seeking information regarding the drug. After this notice, Dr Gaimani appeared at the police station and sought time to gather related documents. However, drug inspector including the manager of Care and Cure, did not reach the police station. On the other hand, while presenting the diary of both the accused in the court, the Torwa police plead not to give bail to the accused. Looking at the seriousness of matter in this pandemic time, the Court rejected bail of both accused.
