New Delhi. Shyama Prasad Mukherji College has organised a Women's Week lecture series. Renowned speakers from different walks of life will deliberate on how society has understood, represented and appropriated womanhood in the past and the present. What elements have propelled or hindered the process of emancipation and progress of woman, especially in India? And also, how far legislation and policies can provide a solution to attitudinal parochialism and hypocrisy in our society?
Dr Sadhna Sahrma, the Principal, is the patron and is officiating the week-long lecture series. The series commences on March 8, on International Women's Day.
