Director-General of Police, DM Awasthi, said on Saturday that five security personnel died in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in the Tarrem area of ​​Bijapur district.

DM Awasthi stated that CRPF's Cobra Battalion, DRG and STF personnel, were carrying out anti-Naxal operations in the area. When the party was in the area, the Naxalites started firing on the security forces. He said that security forces personnel also retaliated. Some Naxalites also died in this incident.
