Bilaspur police busts Biotech-KISAN inter-state fraud racket, three accused arrested

Raipur; Bilaspur police has got major success in exposing an interstate gang doing fraud of crores in the name of Kisan India Biotech. Police have arrested three accused in the case after four days of interstate operation.

As per official police sources, the farmers were being cheated in the name of high-quality fruit yielding tree seeds. They were also cheating farmers in the lieu of providing dealerships of organic food. Amid receiving complaints from farmers, a special team was formed for “Operation Kisan Abhiyaan”.  

After the four day long operation conducted by two teams in Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, police arrested three accused and recovered Rs 2.50 lakh from them besides recovering several bank account passbooks, ATM cards, mobile phones, Kisan India Biotech slips, chemical fertilizer and many other things.  As per senior police officials, the three accused including Shakti Singh, Pradeesh Sharma and Krishnamohan Pandey arrested are from Uttar Pradesh but at present, they have been arrested from Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. The police is also looking for other gang members for which investigation is underway.

As per the police hundreds of people in various districts of Bilaspur range, Sagar, Damoh, Dewas, and Chhindwara of Madhya Pradesh and people from Punjab were victim of this gang. The matter cam into surface after Pratibha Mishra, resident of Bilaspur, who was looted of Rs 3 lakh registered a complaint for the same in Civil Line Police Station. Following this the operation was carried out by police.

The members of this gang used to go to the farmers' fields and give information about the fruit yielding trees and used to take the farmers in their faith. After this, they used to cheat farmers in the name of Biotech-KISAN and took money ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh in the lieu of giving them dealership of organic food. This gang used to trick the farmers that if they would invest 1 lakh rupees per month, then they can earn Rs 10,000 every month.

Bilaspur IG Dipanshu Kabra and Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal have announced a cash reward to the team that solved the case. The team in-charge Sanip Ratre, Cyber Cell Incharge Kalim Khan, Prabhakar Tiwari, Awadhesh Singh, Vikas Ram, Dharmend Sahu, Navin Ekka, Tadbir Singh, Vikas Yadav and Santosh Yadav played a commendable role in the operation.
