Maoists killed a DRG sub inspector in Bijapur late on Friday night

Raipur: A District Reserve Group (DRG) sub inspector who was abducted three days ago has been killed by the Maoists in Bijapur district late on Friday night.

The West Bastar Division of Naxalites has taken responsibility for killing the Jawan. The incident has been confirmed by Bastar range IG Sundararaj P. The case is from Gangalur police station area.

SI Murali Tati of DRG has been killed by Naxalites near Pulsoom Para. The Naxalites escaped after the incident throwing his dead body in Pedda Para along with a Maoist leaflet. In the leaflet the Maoists have mentioned the reason behind killing SI as he was working with the force and was behind killing the Naxalites of PLGA during the encounter. SI Murali Tati was posted in DRG since 2006 and was working in the force since then.

District Reserve Group (DRG) SI Murali Tati was posted in the police line at Jagdalpur and was on leave for treatment for about one and a half months. He arrived on Wednesday to attend the fair at Palanar in Gangalur region. As per sources, the Naxalites kidnapped him at around 4pm. The Jawan was promoted from ASI about two years ago.

Meanwhile, the SI’s wife Manu Tati had appealed to the Naxalites that her husband's mental health is not good for the last three years. She said that one day her husband talked about going to the bathroom and came out of the house. After three worrisome days she learned that he has been kidnapped in Bijapur. She added that she had appeal the Naxalites to leave her husband. Besides, Gondwana society had also taken the initiative to rescue the Jawan. A delegation of them was scheduled to visit the base of the Naxalites on Friday.
