Raipur: Amid rising number of coronavirus cases across the state, Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has decided to cancel class 10th board exams. Besides, the board has also decided to postpone class 12th board examinations.
CGBSE secretary Professor VK Goel has issued an order in this regard on Thursday which reads that marks will be awarded to the students of class 10 on the basis of the assignment issued by the board. If a student has not completed the assignment issued or has not attained minimum passing marks in the assignment, minimum passing marks will be awarded to a student in the board exams. Also, if a student remains dissatisfied with the marks given, he or she will be allowed to appear in the examination for category improvement after the pandemic situation in the state has been controlled.
It has also been mentioned in the order that CGBSE has postponed the Class 12th board examinations which were scheduled to be held from May three to May 24. A new timetable will be issued for the same after the situation of corona pandemic improves across the state.
