Bilaspur. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Dharamlal Kaushik has expressed concern over the rising crime in the state, saying that the increasing cases of misbehaviours have betrayed the promises of women security of the state government. Dharamlal Kaushik declared that women and minors are not safe anywhere from Bastar to Balrampur and from Raipur to Kawardha, and there is an atmosphere of fear due to the rising crime in the state.
The Leader of Opposition said that in 2019 around 2,575 rape cases were registered in the state, of which 254 occurred in Raipur alone. The increasing crime has led to constant questions about policing, but even after all this, the State Home Minister is content with review meetings.
The Home Minister should not only review the situation but should also hold people accountable. Nothing is improving at the ground level due to a lack of accountability. Dharamlal Kaushik, while expressing grief over the incidents in Raipur and Kawardha, has demanded justice for the victims at the earliest.
