Raipur: Raipur district administration on Thursday declared two new containment zones in the city to break the chain of coronavirus transmission.
Raipur district collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan has declared Avinash Pride Multi Story Colony of Hirapur and Changorabhata Mohalla of DD Nagar area as a containment zones. About 38 people has been found corona positive in Avinash Pride. The gates of colony have been closed and sanitization work has been started.
Besides, 11 people have been found corona positive in Changorabhata. The containment zone has been declared from Dewangan Gali in the west, Santosh Thakur's house in the north and the house of Toral Mal in the south, said the officials.
As per the order issued by district collector shops, offices and commercial activities in the containment zone will be completely shut. People will not be allowed to come out of their houses except medical emergencies. In medical emergency also, a pass issued from CMHO will be necessary to go out. Home delivery of essential items will be possible. No person coming from outside will be able to enter inside. Police personnel will also be deployed here to prevent violation of the containment zone restrictions.
Meanwhile, apart from these areas, the district administration is preparing to make three more areas in the city as containment zones. The district collector has said that areas where more patients are found will be sealed to curb the spread of virus. Apart from this, containment zone will be made at 3 more places including New Rajendra Nagar, and Amalidih. Their orders can be issued till Thursday night.
The officials said that now contact tracing will be done in the containment zone. Adhering to safety standards, the health department team will examine people exposed to positive patients and take samples. People have been asked to stay in quarantine until the results of the test is received.
