Raigarh. The vaccination against COVID in the state is under threat due to the fast depleting stock of Covishield vaccine in the district. Only ten-thousand doses of Covaxin are left. The department is constantly corresponding with the Raipur store, but they do not have vaccines. On Monday, vaccination was given only from the remaining vaccines. In many centres, the entire dose ended at noon, after which the people had to return without getting a vaccine dose.
Departmental sources said that up to Saturday, three-thousand Covishield vaccines were available in the district. The doses were distributed incompletely in all the centres. In such a situation, only fifty-people could get vaccinated in the centre, whereas on a typical day, more than a hundred people could get the vaccination. On Monday, Covishield's stock came to an end. Now only about ten-thousand doses of Covaxin are left in the district.
The state government has sent a demand of 12 lakh vaccines to the central government. PM Narendra Modi, in video conferencing last Wednesday, appealed to increase the new centres for vaccination. The process of expanding the centre has stopped due to a lack of vaccine.
