Bilaspur. Congress's stand has become plain in the ongoing tussle between Bilaspur District Congress Committee and MLA Shailesh Pandey. The party's state chief Mohan Markam has said that if a complaint comes to us, we will send a notice and even form an inquiry committee. After that, if appropriate, we will take action.
He said that I have come to know through the media that the Bilaspur District Congress Committee has passed a resolution to expel MLA Shailesh Pandey from the party. If a complaint comes to me, then we will take further action.
The District Congress Committee had passed a resolution to expel Congress MLA from Bilaspur, Shailesh Pandey, for six years from the party. The same will be sent to Pradesh Congress Committee. The State Congress Committee has to decide whether the MLAs will remain in the party or not.
On Wednesday, MLA Shailesh Pandey had stated that I am Minister T S Singhdeo's man, so we are deliberately accused. A few days ago, Pankaj Singh, who is considered a supporter of Congress leader and Minister T S Singhdeo, had a scuffle with the staff of CIMS Hospital.
The Bilaspur police had registered a case against Pankaj. While stating the same matter, MLA Shailesh Pandey gave a statement linking the matter to T S Singhdeo.
Talking to the media at the State Congress office in Raipur, Mohan Markam said that there is no camp in the party. I am with the organization. The role of the organization is that of a parent. Whether we are Chief Minister or workers, we work to give equal importance to all. We work on the instructions of the High Command for the organization.
Regarding the controversy arising in Bilaspur, Mohan Markam said that whatever happened is sad, it should not happen. The police have also registered a case, and they will investigate and do their work. Responding to the MLA's statement, Mohan Markam said that arrogance sometimes overwhelms. We are all bound by party discipline. Public rhetoric like this tarnishes the image of the party.
