Raipur: Work is underway in full swing by the health department for Covid 19 vaccine rollout in the state. The number of vaccination centers to be established in the states which were earlier 1100 has now been increased to 1349, said health minister TS Singh Deo on Thursday.
He added saying that the target group for covid vaccine will include about 2.67 lakh frontline health workers whose names have been registered so far. Dry run for the vaccine has already been conducted in 7 districts and out of the remaining districts, the dry run will be conducted in 10 districts of Bastar and Surguja division on Thursday and in the 11 districts of the remaining three divisions on Friday.
A staff force of over 7,116 vaccinators has been prepared out of which 96 per cent have been trained so far. Covishield’s vaccine has the international certification. The confusion that is occurring is with respect to covaxin. The institutions of the country have authenticated this but international institutions have not done the authentication yet. Its third phase trial is also yet to be done.
Speaking about his discussion with Union Health Minister, Singh Deo said “I think that there will be a discussion mainly about the dry run today. We will also keep many things. The governments of India spokespersons have also said that the vaccine would be available soon by 13th January.”
Speaking about bird flu, the health minister said “We have alerted all the border districts of the state and have also had a discussion with the veterinary department to immediately provide information if a dead bird is found anywhere”.
Besides, he expressed his happiness over Chhattisgarh securing third place for paddy procurement on MSP saying that “it is a good thing. In the states in which farmers have supported the state government, MSP has increased. The state government will support farmers in every way by creating different schemes for them.”
Speaking about the current scenario of the Covid pandemic in Chhattisgarh, the health minister said “We are moving forward towards improvement. We have almost found stability. An increase in the death rate sometimes is a matter of concern. I appeal to people to get themselves tested soon after developing any covid related systems and not to delay in seeking medical attention.”
