Raigarh: Class 9 student stabbed to death by two minors in govt school premises

Raipur: In a shocking incident, a class 9 student was stabbed to death after entering a government school in Raigarh district on Tuesday afternoon.

As per official sources, the student had left the class during the interval and reached the campus when two boys attacked him with a knife. The accused escaped from the spot immediately after attacking him. After the incident, fellow students took him to the hospital; however, he died during treatment there. The matter is of Kotwali area.

As per police sources, both the accused who killed Sagar are minors. Additional SP Abhishek Verma said that the boys stabbed Sagar due to a mutual dispute. Three accused including the girl have been taken into custody in the case. Further investigation is underway. 

Sagar Tandon, aged about 14 years, a resident of Rambhatha, was a student of class 9 in Kailash Nath Katju Government School. After the interval in the school, all the students were playing on the campus itself while others were having lunch. Meanwhile, two boys entered. A dispute arose between them and Sagar and after some time the fight started. Then a boy took out a knife and hit him in the stomach.

In an attempt to save his life, Sagar ran towards the staff room passing through the class. The teachers were having lunch sitting in the staff room. Before the teachers and other staff could understand anything, other students also reached. They all took Sagar to the local health center, but seeing his condition serious; he was referred to the district hospital where he died during treatment.
