Raigarh. On the direction of Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh, today, the Dongaripali Police has taken significant action against the illegal smuggling of cannabis. Inspector Jeetendra Esaiya arrested two people smuggling cannabis at the Inter-State Birnipali Barrier and recovered 52 kg of cannabis.
TI Dongaripali Jeetendra Esaiya received information this morning about two smugglers arriving from Odisha Sohela towards Barmakela. At around 09:30 in the morning, the police stopped a duster car CG-10-NA-9055, coming from Sohela towards Barmakela. TI Jeetendra Esaiya informed the passenger and driver about the inquiry and asked their names. The two were behaving suspiciously, after which the police proceeded to check their car. Fifty-two packets of cannabis of 1 kg each, wrapped with tape, were found in the car trunk. During interrogation, the duo revealed their names, Jagatram Dhuri and Chandra Prakash Kaushik, to the police. They also seized a total of 52 kilos of hemp, valued at ₹ 2,50,000 and a duster car worth nearly Rs. 8,00,000. The accused are under police remand at Dogaripali police station, under 20(B) NDPS act.
