Raipur:With BJP stalwarts of the state gathering at party state office Kushabhau Thakre Parishar in Raipur on Friday, indication is that the party will prepare a fool-proof strategy to corner the state government on several issues, especially religion conversion. The party may also plan for a massive agitation in the state. The meeting on Friday will see participation of BJP state office bearers as well district level office bearers.
BJP stalwarts from Chhattisgarh, who had reached Delhi to attend the marriage ceremony of daughter of Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi, have returned to Raipur and it is said that these leaders returned from Delhi with the strategy to target the state government, paving the way for BJP to make a comeback in the state.
All the senior leaders of the state BJP, including Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, had attended the marriage ceremony in Delhi.
In a statement after his return from Delhi, Kaushik saidthat the government is sheltering conversion in the state instead of taking action against those trying to cause harm to the rich culture and tradition of the state through conversion.
The state government should investigate the allegations of the Opposition, said Kaushik, adding the letter written by Sukma SP regarding conversion was not taken seriously by this government.
The issue of prohibition of liquor in the state will also be discussed in the meeting apart from the issue of the damage caused by elephants to life and property of the people in the state and drought situation of the state.
Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, DharamlalKaushik met Union Railway Minister AshwiniVaishnaw, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Prahlad Singh Patel, G Kishan Reddy and others during their Delhi visit.
As per schedule, the BJP core group will meet the first on Friday followed by a meeting of state office bearers, divisional in-charge, party district in-charge and co-in-charge. All the district heads have also been called to the meeting.
It is said that the strategy to corner state government on conversion and other major issues was discussed in the BJP's introspection camp in Jagdalpur from August 31 to September 2. The BJP also underlined the issues to be raised ahead of 2023 Assembly elections.
\MP Saroj Pandey meets women agitating for liquor ban
Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey had on Thursday reached Dumarpali village of Mahasamund districtwhere women associated with Bharat Mata Vahini are agitating demanding ban on liquor in the state. It is claimed that the women associated with this movement did not go to their maternal home to celebrate Teeja. Recently, BJP's state in-charge D Purandeshwari had raised questions on the claim of the Congress government to protect the culture.
