Ambikapur. Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo today launched free dialysis facilities at Ambikapur and Jashpur. The Health Minister, who arrived in Surguja, inaugurated these centres by himself present in Ambikapur and through a virtual program in Jashpur. Under the National Health Mission, this facility named 'Jeevan Dhara' will provide free dialysis for all.
The Health Minister said that patients suffering from kidney diseases have to undergo frequent dialysis for a long time. These procedures are a financial burden on them. With the introduction of a dialysis facility in Jashpur and Surguja, patients with kidney diseases will no longer have to go far for it. It will save labour, money and time for the patients and their families. Three patients received free dialysis on the day of the inauguration itself.
National Health Mission, Chhattisgarh has started free dialysis facilities in six districts of the state, namely Durg, Kanker, Korba, Bilaspur, Mahasamund and Bijapur. With Jashpur and Surguja, the number of free dialysis centres in the state is now eight. Jashpur has five units and three at Ambikapur. Ten thousand six hundred sixty-six sessions have been conducted so far under the free dialysis program in the dialysis centres of the state.
