Raipur: The Central Government has given instructions to remove the ministers in charge from the post of DMF Council President besides stating that district collector will head DMF fund. Union coal and mines minister Prahlad Joshi has written a letter to the chief minister asking him to immediately implement the instructions issued earlier in this matter.
The move comes after complaints were being made against ministers regarding misuse of DMF fund. . There were also constant complaints about money laundering and commission evasion. In many districts including Jashpur, Rajnandgaon, there were reports of irregularities regarding DMF money.
The central government had issued clear guidelines regarding the head of the DMF fund in April this year, however the Chhattisgarh government had sent a letter to the Central Government on June, urging that the district Incharge minister should be the chairman of the governing council of the DMF. This has been turned down by the center making it clear that chairman of the DMF fund will not be the minister-in-charge, but the collector.
