Raipur:Senior Congress leader and one of the biggest faces of Chhattisgarh
Satnami Samaj, Vedram Manhare, has quit Congress to join the BJP along with his 10 supporters. According to information, Vedram and his ten supporters joined the BJP in the presence of BJP National General Secretary and Chhattisgarh In-charge D Prandeswari and influential tribal leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Nandkumar Sai on Saturday.
It is to be mentioned, Manhare has been two times president of TildaJanpad Panchayat. Earlier, he was elected as vice president of the Janpad panchayat twice.
However, joining of Manhare did not go down well with Raipur Rural BJP president Animesh Kashyap and his supporters who had registered their opposition with senior party leaders including former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. According to Kashyap, many party workers were against Manhare coming to the party fold, indicating towards lack of coordination between party’s national and state leadership.
Further the absence of organisationleader from Chhattisgarh during the joining of Manhare also raised several eyebrows. Meanwhile, Manhare is said to have plan to organise mega political events soon and invite former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and former Speaker of Assembly Gaurishankar Agrawal in the event.
Some faction in BJP feel that Manhare’s present will benefit the party keeping in mind his indluence in the Satnami Samaj. Manhare has strong hold over his Samaj in constituencies like Kasdol, Baloda Bazaar, Dharsiwaand Arang.
