Raipur: Former chairperson of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Nand Kumar Sai has alleged that huge fraud is being done in the guise of the public hearing regarding expansion of industries.
Talking to media persons on Thursday, Sai said that pollution from industries is increasing and road pits and continuous mining work are adversely affecting the health of tribal and villagers in Jashpur and Raigarh districts.
He said that he has also spoken to the district collector Bhim Singh about a similar case in the neighboring Raigarh district stressing upon cancellation of the said public hearing under any circumstances. Giving a strong warning today, he said any company doing work against rules will be opposed in the public hearing. He said that by committing fraud in the public hearings, no negative industrial activity will be allowed to flourish in Jashpur and Raigarh at all.
Sai also expressed his disappointment over a public meeting to be held in Raigarh on November 25. He has challenged that this public hearing will not be allowed in any way illegally. He said that he is going to visit the affected areas himself and gave the commitment to protect the land of tribals from getting polluted and exploited in any case, even if he himself has to get into the movement.
