Koriya. Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh started the Cop of the Month program to encourage and reward the police officers and employees who do remarkable work every month. The selected employees receive cash rewards and testimonials and their photographs get displayed on the notice boards of all the police stations, including the office of the Superintendent of Police for the whole month.
In August 2021, police station in-charge Khadgwan sub-inspector Vijay Singh, constable Jitendra Mishra police station Khadgwan and constable Bhanupratap police station Chirmiri are the Cop of the Month.
The Khadgawan police team risked their lives and recovered forty-five boxes of English Goa liquor from the Scorpio vehicle. Total 405 litres costing about Rs 3,00,000 and old used Scorpio vehicles costing around Rs 10,00,000.
They have registered a case against the accused under 238/21 Section 34(2). The accused is in prison; this is a great success for the Koriya police.
SP Santosh Singh has also included constable Bhanupratap posted in Chirmiri in the “Cop of the Month” series. The constable played an important role in catching 67.4 kg and 70 kg of ganja under the NDPS Act. The Korea Police has got great success in the chain of curbing the liquor business.
