Bilaspur. Virendra Gahwai is the new President of the Press Club. Vineet Chauhan has got the post of Vice President. While, Irshad Ali has is the new Secretary, Bhupesh Ojha for Co-Secretary, Jitendra Thakur got elected as the Treasurer, and Ritu Sahu is the executive. In the election for six posts, the Development Panel got four posts; the Ashirwad Panel got success in only two.


The election for the new executive of Bilaspur Press Club got completed on Saturday. We remained amid journalists throughout the day. Out of 450 members, 418 journalists cast their votes for six posts. In the counting of votes, Virendra Gahvai was elected President and Irshad Ali as secretary. An election meeting was organized at DP Choubey Smriti Press Trust building on Idgah Road at 10:00 am. In which the old committee presented its annual report. In addition, the details of income and expenditure were also presented. After this, the voting took place.

There were 21 candidates in the fray for Vice President, Secretary, Co-Secretary, Treasurer and Executive Member. While there was a contest between four candidates each for the post of President and Vice President, there were three candidates each for Treasurer, Secretary and Executive Member. Apart from Ashirwad, Vishwas and Vikas Panel, some independent candidates were also trying their luck in the elections this time.
