Raipur: Chhattisgarh cheif minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday paid floral tributes to the potrait of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna and the dreamer of modern India of the 21st century Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated as "Sadbhavna Diwas" across the state.
Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charandas Mahant and the members of the cabinet took the oath of Sadbhavna Diwas in a programme organized at the Chief Minister's residence.
Recalling the invaluable contribution of Rajiv Gandhi to the nation's reconstruction, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said that with a visionary vision of inclusive development, decisions like three-tier Panchayati Raj system, communication revolution, and right to vote for the youth, Rajiv Gandhi laid the foundation of 21st century India. Gandhi took over the reins of the country as the youngest Prime Minister of India. His birthday is celebrated as Sadbhavna Diwas all over the country.
Cabinet ministers including Ravindra Choubey, Dr Shiv Kumar Dahria, Mohammad Akbar, Kawasi Lakhma, Anila Bhendiya, Guru Rudra Kumar, Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Jaisingh Agarwal were present on the occasion.
