Raipur:Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Scheduled Tribe Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam congratulated students of PrayaResidential Schools for coming out with flying colours in the JEE Mains examination, results of which were announced on Wednesday. Both leaders wished the students for bright future. It is worthwhile to mention, Tribal Department runs these schools for better education of the tribal students and help them make career in higher education. Students qualified the JEE Mains can now appear for JEE-Advanced and get admission in higher educational institutes like IIT, IIIT, NIT and other technical institutes run by the central government.
This year, a total of 395 students from Prayas Residential Schools across the state had appeared for JEE Mains, out of which 178 students managed to crack it. Maximum 73 students have cleared passed from Prayas Boys Residential School, SadduRaipur. Besides, 23 students of PrayasGirls Residential School, Raipur, 21 students of Prayas Residential School Durg, 18 students of Prayas Ambikapur, 16 students of Prayas Bilaspur, 15 students of Prayas Jagdalpur and 12 students of Prayas Kanker achieved overwhelming success.
Secretary of the Tribal Department D DSingh and Commissioner Shammi Abidi also congratulated the students.
So far 70 students of Prayas residential schools have got admission in IITs, 221 students in NITs and IIIT and 772 students in engineering colleges, 39 students in medical colleges.
