Bilaspur. Water Resource Minister Ravindra Choubey was in Bilaspur today to take stock of the construction of two barrages on the Arpa river. He inspected the under-construction barrage site.

Ravindra Choubey first inspected the site of Shiv Ghat in Sarakanda and then the Pachri Ghat in Shanichari. Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey gave information about both the barrage and detailed report on the upcoming smart road on the banks of Arpa by Bilaspur Smart City. Minister of Water Resources also expressed concern over the discharge of polluted water in Arpa. On that MLA Shailesh Pandey informed him that the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had sanctioned the building of drains on both sides of the Arpa. As soon as the construction gets completed; Arpa will have abundant pure water in both the barrages throughout the year. The groundwater level of Bilaspur will increase too, and the Arpa river will return to its original form.

 Apart from Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Ravindra Choubey, MLA Shailesh Pandey, MLA Rashmi Singh, Mayor Ramsharan Yadav, Chairman Sheikh Naziruddin, District Panchayat President Arun Singh Chauhan, and all the officers and engineers of the department including the Chief Engineer of the department were present.
