Chhattisgarh: Cong has come to power by misleading farmers and spreading confusion, alleges BJP Kisan Morcha

Raipur: BJP national vice president and former chief minister Dr Raman Singh said that Congress has formed government in Chhattisgarh by misleading farmers and have not solved their issues yet. Small and marginal farmers have suffered more here.

Besides, the Bhupesh government stopped the Ayushman Health Scheme of the center so that farmers are also deprived of the benefits of this scheme. The irrigation system of the Congress government is completely failing and at present, the government is unable to provide pump connections to farmers as 38 per cent pump connections are still pending, said Singh while addressing the meeting of BJP Kisan Morcha state working committee held here on Saturday.

Singh further added that the area of agriculture is wide; there is no distinction of caste and varna among the farmers. Women are also playing a leading role in the agriculture sector here. The farmers are currently moving towards self-sufficiency by doing modern farming. He said that the new agricultural law of the center was revolutionary and beneficial for the farmers. The opposition party is trying to mislead by spreading confusion among the farmers.

Addressing the meeting Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey said that the central government is determined to double the income of farmers. In this direction, important works are being done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country. She alleged that the Congress government of the state has come to power only by spreading confusion and misleading the farmers, but this government is not doing anything in the interest of the farmers.

Leader of Opposition in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dharamlal Kaushik said the Congress government is deceiving the farmers. We need to take the farmers bill of the center between the farmers and the public. Our fight has to be strengthened from the road to the House and every Kisan Morcha activist will work even more strongly in this direction. He appealed for more meaningful dialogue in the interest of farmers.

Former Agriculture Minister and senior MLA Brijmohan Agrawal said that when the BJP was in the state, the government was running many schemes for the farmers of the state. Farmers were always in need of water for agricultural work, in view of which the previous BJP government had provided them with solar pumps. However, ever since the Congress came to power in the state, all the schemes running in the state were stopped.

He said that about 90 percent of people in the state are associated with agriculture. The farmers of the state are so upset today that they are wandering to sell their produce. The state government continued to harass the farmers on the pretext of reduction in acreage and sometimes due to lack of gunny bags. Earlier farmers were upset with the decision of the state Congress government to buy paddy by the month late. He said that the Congress is also doing injustice to the Rajiv Gandhi Nyaya Yojana. Last year's paddy amount is being paid in installments and the last installment has not yet been paid. He said that the Congress, which came to power by promising to buy paddy for Rs 2500, has not yet fulfilled its promises.

Kisan Morcha state in-charge Sandeep Sharma said that the state government is completely unsuccessful in the issue of farmers. The failure of this government will take the Kisan Morcha to the public. The farmers of the state are terrorized and forced to commit suicide.

State President of Kisan Morcha Shyamvihari Jaiswal said that we are extending the work of the Morcha by making continuous contact between the farmers. Each of our workers is sensitive to the strength of the organization and the involvement of farmers in the front. We will surely succeed in Mission 2023.
