Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today flagged off two mechanized sweeping machines under the Smart City project of Raipur Municipal Corporation to make the cleanliness system smooth in Raipur. With this, mechanized cleaning work has begun in Raipur city. The program was at the Chief Minister's residence complex.
With two new mechanized sweeping machines, mechanized cleaning work was done from the Chief Minister's residence in the capital today through Civil Line to Ashoka Tower Shankarnagar Chowk via Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Shankar Nagar main road. The Municipal Health Department has fixed the course to get the main roads cleaned with a sweeping machine. The Municipal Health Department will do the cleaning work in all the zones according to the prescribed route.
The air quality of the capital city will improve from road dust removal. Apart from cleaning the roads, there is provision for washing road dividers and footpaths at regular intervals. Just as in the metros, the cleaning work will take place at night. Municipal Health Officer Vijay Pandey is the nodal officer for the mechanized cleaning system of Raipur city. Mechanized road cleaning will get implemented through M/s Global Goose Waste Management LLP.
