Raipur:
Chhattisgarh chief secretary Amitabh Jain has written a letter Ram Janmabhoomi
Teertha Kshetra Trust asking who is authorized to collect the funds for the
construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
In his letter, Jain has asked the trust's general secretary Champat Rai regarding who is authorized for the amount being received for the construction of the temple. The letter also mentions illegal recovery and forgery in the name of fund for temple.
Meanwhile,
a few days ago a case of illegal recovery by a woman in Bilaspur in the name of
donation of Ram temple was revealed. After which crime was registered against
the woman. On the basis of this, the Chief Secretary has written a letter to
the Trust. Through the letter, it has been asked that who is authorized to
collect the amount of support being taken from the general public for the
construction of a temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Besides,
this has sparked a controversy between Congress and the saffron party in Chhattisgarh.
Congress has alleged that illegal collection is taking place in the name of
donations. Congress has extended support to the chief secretary saying that he has
written this letter keeping in view the public sentiments.
INC
Chhattisgarh Spokesperson RP Singh that some organizations and political
parties in Chhattisgarh are doing a collection in the name of Ram Mandir, abusing
public sentiments. Such complaints were constantly being received by the government
and that is why the chief secretary wrote a letter to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha
Kshetra Trust to know which political parties and organizations are authorized
to collect donations. With the response to this letter, the situation will
become clear as to who are the people who are authorized and who are doing the
work of fundraising unofficially. I support this move of the government, he said.
On the contrary, Chhattisgarh BJP spokesperson Gourishankar Srivas said that the problem is not of donations, it is from the day of the Supreme Court's decision. The fundraising plan is completely transparent. A committee has been formed for this in all districts. Prabhat Pheri is being taken out to connect the common people with the spirit of temple construction. There is no doubtful condition anywhere. This is a spread illusion of the Congress. The state government should be ashamed of doing such an act.
"There is a conspiracy to discredit Hindu society. This party is dissatisfied with the way the people of the state are joining in Ram temple construction and contributing their part in the construction of the temple. There is an account for every single penny donated for the construction but this government is not authorized to ask for an account of donations. For this, the Income Tax Department will give them the accounts", he said.
