Raipur. Koriya Police started the NiJaat campaign, flagged off by the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon'ble Charandas Mahant. Koriya Police is aiming for a drug-free Koriya. Under this campaign, the police are taking strict actions to arrest illegal drug dealers. Within the last two months, a total of 282 persons got arrested in Koriya district under the NDPS Act, 74 out of 54 cases and 208 in 203 cases of illicit liquor, due to which huge quantity of intoxicants, syrup, ganja, illicit liquor as well as 15 nos of motorcycle and 01 car got caught. The officers and station in-charges are informing the people about its action plan by holding meetings on a continuous emancipation campaign. The police are also working to identify and counsel those addicted to drugs.


Additional Superintendent of Police Koriya, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Chief.) and all the police in-charge of the district, to get rid of drugs, in the last two days, more than hundreds of people caught in the grip of drugs got counselling. The Superintendent of Police said that under this campaign, we are trying to make the public aware and counsel people suffering from drug addiction.
