Raipur: Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College (CCMMC) Acquisition Bill was tabled in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday amidst chaos created by the Opposition members. Opposition BJP counted shortcomings in the Bill in the House.
Chhattisgarh Health and Family Welfare Minister T S Singhdeo tabled the Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College, Durg (Acquisition) Bill 2021 in the House.
BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal opposed the Bill saying the fundamental rights of the common people have been ignored by the state government in this Bill. Agrawal also sought that the Minister should go through the Bill once before introducing it. In reply, Singhdeo said that he has thoroughly read the Bill and assured that nobody will be affected by the Bill.
Earlier, speaking to media persons, former Chief Minister and BJP MLA Dr. Raman Singh questioned the Acquisition Bill regarding Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College. He said that the acquisition is being done against the norms
Opposition BJP opposed the provision in the budget even before the acquisition of the Medical College. BJP MLA Saurabh Singh raised the question that how Rs 75 crore provision has been made in the supplementary budget before the acquisition. He said that the medical college has not been acquired yet, so the provision of funds in the budget is wrong.
