Raigarh police arrests 4 people for looting a cashier

Raipur: Raigarh police has arrested a four people of a gang who attacked the cashier of Grameen Bank after a 13 day long operation.

As per official police sources as many as four people of the gang has been arrested and information has been received that two people involved in the case are hiding in other state. Three police teams are constantly conducting raids at different places to arrest them.

According to the information, as usual, Vinod Lakda, aged about 40 years, cashier of Khamhar Gramin Bank branch, had left for Dharamjigarh on his bike to Khamhar on March 1, 2021 in the morning. With an intention of loot, four people in two bikes came infornt of Lakda village near Miriguda at around 09.50 am. A man shot Vinod after which he fell from his bike and the accused ran away snatching his bag. After primary treatment, Lakda was referred to Raigarh Fortis Hospital. A team of police headed by Additional SP Abhishek Verma rushed to Dharamjaigarh as per the instructions of SP Santosh Singh. In the late evening, a report was lodged in the Dharamjaigarh police station. As per the report, the robbed bag contained a passbook, tiffin, and Aadhaar card.

After intensive investigation, questioning with thousands of people involved, and searches, the police arrested four people including Sandeep Rathia, aged about 24 years resident of village Songoodah in Korba district, Anjulus Ekka, age 30 years resident of Korba district, Karandas Mahant, age 30 years resident of Raigarh district, Lajrus Ekka, age 28 years resident of Korba district. Two accused including Kalyan Khakha of Jharkhand and Anil Tirkey of Lemru Korba are still absconding. Their search is underway, said the police.

Besides, the team has recovered a live cartridge from accused Sandeep Rathia, a pistol with 9mm round hand made in USA English and a Vivo mobile and pulsar bike with white number plate. In addition, a Hero Honda CD Deluxe black colored, cash of Rs 2000 and cashier's bag has been recovered from Anjulus Ekka. Aadhar card of Vinod Lakra and three bank passbooks has been recovered from Karan Mahant and a passion pro bike with white without number plate has been recovered from Lajrus Ekka.
