Raipur: The Raigarh police have recovered 121 mobile phones that were reported to be either lost or stolen.
These mobile phones have recovered under the leadership of Raigarh SP Santosh Singh using assistance of cyber cell in 2.5 months. The police has demanded the concern to send mobile phone, which are recovered from other district or state, through courier. However, due to effective lockdown in many states, dozens of recovered mobile phones are yet to be received. The total price of 121 recalled handsets is around Rs 16.80 lakh, said the police.
According to the records available in cyber cell last year 382 mobiles and in the last two half months 121 mobiles were recovered taking the total tally of recovered lost/stolen mobile phones to 503. These mobiles with an estimated price of about Rs 67 lakh have been distributed to owners by SP Santosh Singh.
On the task given by SP Santosh Singh to Cyber Cell to search maximum missing/stolen mobiles, Cyber Cell Chief constable Rajesh Patel along with Durgesh Singh, constable Brij Lal Gurjar, Dhananjay Kashyap, Prashant Panda and women constable Maneka Chauhan 121 mobiles have been recovered in the last two and a half months by contacting the users continuously.
Meanwhile, the mobiles
lost from Raigarh district have been recovered from cyber cell in-charge from
several districts of Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and
Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Raipur, Baloda Bazar, Jashpur, Mahasamund, Ambikapur
area of the state, while Dozens of mobile users have been deposited in the
cyber cell on the instructions to bring them to the cyber cell. The cyber cell
in-charge has been instructed by the Superintendent of Police to register the crime
of theft from the application in the concerned police station on the
applications given in connection with mobile theft. At the same time, they have
been asked to collect the missing mobile by going to the nearest police station
or cyber cell, because it is illegal to use someone else's mobile.
