Bilaspur. Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey raised the issue of the private pond being converted and grabbed by the government in monsoon session of Vidhansabha. Even after the government ordered to transfer it to the landowner, the officials built a school building by converting the said pond.
In a discussion, Revenue Minister Jai Singh Agarwal, Shailesh Pandey said that what happened was a great injustice. How many more inquiries does the administration need? The minister said that they will complete the investigation within three months, and the victim will get justice.
Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey said that on June 25, 1968, the land was supposed to be registered in favour of the owner. But this did not happen, and the land remained in the government's name. Meanwhile, around 1990, the government converted that pond into land without the permission of the landowner. The government used the land for constructing a secondary school. When the landowner came to know of this, he applied for the nomination of the land, with all the documents, before the Tehsildar. The government constructed a high school without informing the landowner Uday Gupte. The landowner submitted a written objection before the Additional Collector, on which the Collector directed the Tehsildar. But the Tehsildar and other officers ignored this. He directed them to build only on government land, but the officers ignored that order also.
