Naya Raipur. Valiant heroes of the 1971 war from Chhattisgarh jointly flagged off the 25 km Cycle Rally organized by Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area (COSA) of the Army here in its Headquarters near Shahid Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium at Naya Raipur. Kuldeep Singh Juneja, MLA Raipur North, flagged off the Walkathon. The event was to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the 1971 war victory of the Indian Armed forces over Pakistan. Members of the Armed forces, Para Military forces, NCC, civil dignitaries, cycling enthusiasts and the citizenry of Raipur joined the veterans. Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations (also known as ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’) by lighting the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ at the National War Memorial, New Delhi, on December 16, 2020. The Cycle Rally and Run were part of the commemorative events conducted pan India throughout the year.
