Bilaspur. National Investigative Agency (NIA) has filed a petition for securing government witnesses in Bhima Mandavi murder case, former BJP MLA from Dantewada. After the hearing, the Court has issued notice to the defendants.
Maoists had assassinated BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi on April 9, 2019, in Nakulnar village of Dantewada. Some of the accused, in this case, also got arrested. During the same time, some Naxals who had surrendered under the Government's Surrender-cum-rehabilitation-policy, revealed that they know the people involved in the killing of the MLA. After this, the NIA had appealed to the District Court, Jagdalpur for securing them as state's witness, but the Court rejected the appeal. Now the NIA has approached the High Court for its application.
