This may be the most beautiful picture of the year 2020 when the whole world is trying to get rid of Covid 19 and at the same time hundreds of villagers and agriculture workers are listening to the best of the classical music of the year. Yes it happened in Behat (Gwalior) Madhya Pradesh in the 96th edition of world fame Tansen Sangeet Samaroh on the last day of the event, i.e. 30th December 2020. Sombala Satley Kumar was praying before her performance that she was fortunate enough to get a chance to perform at the Sadhana place of legendary Dhrupada vocalist Tansen. Vasudev Verma and his wife are on verge of almost becoming blind, but here they were easily sitting and meditating during the performance of the vocalist singers. Mr Verma did his master degree in Vocal music from Madhav Govt Music College Gwalior while his wife did in English.
This miracle was well curetted by the man who changed the paradigm of Culture in Madhya Pradesh, Mr Rahul Rastogi, Acting Director of Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Academy Bhopal. He simply explained remembering legendary Tansen and his legacy saying that when Tansen used to sing, the power of his music would illuminate the lights in the lamps by Raga Deepak and would bring rains by Raga Megh Malhar and thereby melting the marble -stone into dust. Tansen also controlled the wild animals. If all these used to happen, then why not classical music has mesmerized the common villagers, agriculture workers and the urban audience as well?
