Janjgir collector initiates prompt action against labourer harassment; labourers receive pay and arrangements underway for safe return.

Raipur, The labourers who were suffering in the Anantnag district, Kashmir, have got immediate relief on the initiative of the Janjgir Collector, Jitendra Shukla. Through Janjgir Collector's intervention, the Anantnag Collector sent the district labour officer on the spot. The labourers got their wages and returned safely.

 

Jitendra Shukla told us that he contacted Anantnag Collector Piyush Singhla as soon as he got the information. He requested immediate action. Piyush Singhla has also ordered the Assistant Labor Commissioner of the district to take prompt action on receiving the information. 

 

One of the labourers, Devkumar, spoke about his ordeal. Devkumar said that the district labour officer had come to Pir Jamir. He immediately called the owner of the brick kiln and had their salaries paid. He also arranged a bus to Jammu. More than a hundred people are coming back from there. The workers have expressed their gratitude to the collectors of Janjgir and Anantnag districts.

 

Janjgir district's Assistant Labor Commissioner, Dr KK Singh, said that arrangements are underway for the workers to come to Jammu. He also informed that 260 labourers of the Janjgir district were working in the kiln. Out of these, the families who want to come back will receive payment immediately.
