Raipur: In view of the incessant rains in the state, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed all the district collectors to ensure proper arrangements for relief and rescue measures in the flood-prone areas.
The collectors have been given instructions to be fully prepared to deal with any kind of adverse situation caused by flood. He has instructed to keep the disaster management team ready in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Chief minister said that immediate financial aid should be provided to the affected families, if required. He has directed that the water level of river and drains should be continuously monitored and regularly reported to the control room. Proper arrangements should be made in advance in the areas, where flood-like situation may arise.
Chief minister has asked the district collectors to set up temporary relief camps in schools and nearby buildings in the flood affected areas. He has also asked the officers of district police force, home guard, state disaster response force, revenue department, health department, public health engineering, electricity department, public works, food department, urban bodies, BSNL to be alert and vigilant in the affected districts.
