Bilaspur to go under lockdown from 14 on Wednesday

Bilaspur. Bilaspur. Collector Saransh Mittar has issued an order to impose a complete lockdown in Bilaspur from April 14 to 21. The order will remain in effect from 6 am on April 14 to 12 am on April 21. Bilaspur is a Containment Zone for this period. All boundaries of Bilaspur district will remain completely sealed.


The situation of Bilaspur was getting worse. On Saturday, 897 new cases were officially confirmed in Bilaspur, while eight people lost their lives due to Coronavirus. In many districts where the number of COVID cases are far less than Bilaspur declared a lockdown. MLA Shailesh Pandey requested the Chief Minister to direct the Collector to put a lockdown in Bilaspur; he also met with the Collector and discussed lockdown measures. After which, today, the Collector issued the order of lockdown.  


Bilaspur will undergo a complete lockout from April 14 to 21; even the banks will remain closed. This time the lockdown will be stricter than ever. All institutions except petrol pumps, hospitals and medical stores are closed. Petrol pumps will serve only essential service worker; they will have to show identification to get the same. Medical stores and milk vendors are given a conditional exemption from it. All businesses, vegetable shops will remain closed. However, shops that are outside the city borders will remain open. Milk vendors, and newspaper hawkers, can go about their work from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Gas agencies can deliver cylinders. In case of emergency travel, a maximum of three persons, including the driver in four-wheelers and two in two-wheelers, will be allowed to move. Marital events can have only twenty people, while for funerals, only ten people are allowed. Those who are staying at the hotel can get only room service. No meetings, processions, social, religious or political events are allowed during this period of lockdown.
